Welcome to Fukuoka — the city of ramen, sunshine, and just the right mix of city buzz and local charm. We’re so happy you’re here to celebrate with us! Whether you’re chasing good food, a bit of culture, or just good vibes, this guide will help you make the most of your stay (and maybe fall in love with Fukuoka like we did).

Hotels

We highly recommend staying around Tenjin, Fukuoka’s most lively and convenient neighborhood—and basically where everything happens. Tenjin will be the pick-up point for our private shuttle bus (for selected guests) and the location of our after-party, so staying here makes moving around easy and stress-free.

It’s also the best area if you want to fully enjoy the city. Tenjin is packed with great restaurants, bars, cafés, shopping spots, and multiple Don Quijote branches—all within walking distance. Whether you’re grabbing late-night snacks, doing some last-minute shopping, or heading out after the wedding festivities, Tenjin

Make sure to leave a google review and let the store know because they give away really cute tote bags in exchange!

If you’ve ever seen the crazy-long line for Gyukatsu Motomura in Tokyo and thought, “No way I’m waiting that long for beef,” — good news! Fukuoka’s branch is way more chill. You can finally try that perfectly crispy-outside, pink-inside gyukatsu without losing your sanity (or half your day). Trust us, it’s worth every bite — especially when you realize you didn’t have to queue for two hours to get it.

Ella’s top pick — and that says a lot. She usually refuses to eat alone when traveling (because Kim is her built-in GPS, translator, and food buddy). But one time, while Kim went off to an unagi place, she bravely slurped a whole bowl of Kanetora ramen by herself. That’s how good it is. Rich broth, perfect noodles, and a flavor so comforting it could almost replace Kim… almost.

Ah, Dacomecca — the bread place that almost caused a fight when Kim and Ella went to Fukuoka in March 2025. Kim wanted to buy half the bakery (as usual), but since he has a legendary record of not finishing his food, Ella said no. Fast forward a few bites later — Jason and SB shared the breads Kim didn’t get, and he instantly regretted every life decision. Cue the mini tantrum. Moral of the story? Always trust your bread cravings. Always let Kim buy the bread.
